2006 Reunion |
Since 1954 I went to work in the Office of Heil Co., where I worked for about one and half years until I was laid off. I then went to work at Press Steel Tank Co. Dan was released from the army in March of 1956 and we were married in September of 1956. I only worked about a month after we were married, in July of 1957 we had our first baby. That was a real adjustment for me, but I did well, then in October of 1958, we had another baby. It was a real joy, I love being a mother. I worked really hard raising my family. December of 1960 we had our third baby. I was really busy taking care of my family. In February 1965, we had our fourth baby. We now had two girls and two boys. Was a good sized family and kept me busy all the time. We did travel to Florida to see my folks in the winter months. The children all grew up and got married. In 1982 we moved to Wind Lake, we had two of our children move with us as they were not married yet. David only lived with us a year then he got married. Sue got married a few years later. Dan and I would go to Tucson, Arizona in the winter months from 1987 till 1994 to visit friends and also Dan's brother in California. I Always enjoy those trips having a great time with friends. Our friends have now moved back to Wisconsin, so we see them often. Dan was working at the sod farm delivering sod and they needed help in the office so I went to work for them too. In between all of this, I felt lead to help in the AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) program at our Church. I started to take my grandchildren plus some of their friends. I had the van full every Wednesday night with children ranging from ages 3 years old to teenagers. What time I had with my grandchildren and their friends. I am still helping out in the AWANA program seeing as my youngest grand daughter has 2 more years to finish with the program. They have all come to know the LORD through the AWANA program. I have been teaching Sunday School at our Church for the past two years now too. We celebrate everyones 25th and 50th Wedding Anniversaries plus graduations at our Church with a Cake. I have been busy baking the Cakes and decorating them. It is not a professional job but they do look good. I do a lot of praying and with the help of the LORD, I do fine. I have lived alone for two years now, seeing as Dan went home to be with the LORD in November of 2005. I"m doing good, going forward and trusting in the LORD. I thank the LORD for all the good friends I have. In August of 2008, I will be a Great Grandmother. What a Blessing from the LORD, for I have 12 grandchildren, 9 boys and 3 girls. One Grandchild is married. I love them all for they are a real Blessing to me. |
